BLOG 7: AN EXPERT ON YOUR FIELD

Martin Chalfie was born in 1947, he was grandson of brest-litovsk (belarus's city) from his father, from her mother, they granparentes were lived in cincinnati. the father's Martin was a nice guitarist, and his mother created a company of dress-manufacturing which calls "Mountain Home Smart Apparel". Martin was a little scientist by early age, he learnt about dinosaurs, about aspect generals of animals, about the polution, etc, getting the information from books mainly call “all about …” for example “all about animals”, “all about dinasours”, “all about planets”, etc. Then (a few years) thanks of the money got with company, Martin and his brothers would enter to the university. Martin doesn’t know what he could study at harvard. Then he prefer biochemistry major, because could be more interesting than biology mayor.

He finish his major and he started studying   nervious cells in microscopic animal, who was transparent, so you can see all the functions inside it. The problem was that he could’nt see what happend with the proteins into the cell. So one day he heard from a mentor that there is a protein that when you put it in fluorecent light that proyects a green light, Martin and his team, get this protein and create an indicador to any protein. so, all protein could see at fluorecent light (obviously if it has the indicador). so in 2008 they won the nobel prize of chemistry.

I liked to much the work of Martin, because this discovery could use it to understand many

Function at the human body and animals in general, because in general the agent that produces changes in the nature are the proteins. this discovery is a tool to many works at today and the future. i admire that he could rise by the bottom to be a nice person and great investigator.
